As already mentioned in previous pages, Dekayama is built by using
many techniques in order not to break down. When you see these
pictures, you might remember the structure of house. As you know,
house does not move. So we must construct Dekayama stronger than house.

Nanao has a long history of trading over sea. So, we have many
techniques to build wood ship. By using this techniques, we biuld Dekayama.

I suppose most difficult parts to build is to make a wheel of
Dekayama. The wheel is made from over 40 parts of wood, however we
couldn't recognize how to connect each part. The wheels are
painted with 'Urushi' which is a traditional paint.

Now I have a rest. I'll show how to make a 'Ha-Teko' which is used
to drive Dekayama. In order to avoid any accident, its corner is
shaved.
