2002.12.31 - Greatest Purification

On December 31th, 2002 at 23:30, we will have a new year after 30
minutes. We have a "Greatest Purification" at Innyaku
Shrine. Parishioners gatherd from every town. Before this
performance, they decorate Innyaku Shrine with such as paper
lanterns, red-white curtains and so on for preparing for New Year.
As shown in this picture, over 30 persons are present from young
to aged.

A Shinto priest recites a prayer with sound of a drum. We just
reach the climax ? Unfortunately, this performance does not
contain such one, however, this ceremony takes a slightly long
time compared with the usual. As you know, ordinaly we does not
see and attend to such a purification. Maybe on wedding ceremony,
you see. Persons living in Nanao City meets such performance many
times!, because we have Shinto festival every month.

Sorry for my nonsense. And addition to the above, I think
signature of Innyaku Shrine looks like that of Maeda. Do you know
Maeda? Maeda is a prime minister of Ishikawa prefecture about 300
years ago. However, I don't know the relationship between Maeda
and Innyaku. Please research by yourself if you have some
interest.
When you attend to this performance "Greatest Purification", you
could be purified for this year. If you does not have confidence
for your live, I recommend you to join us. Of cource I'll try
every year!!
